Ahoy hoy, savvy IT providers. By now you’ve probably heard about CA Nimsoft Monitor Snap, the free IT management solution that leverages many of the powerful features available in the full CA Nimsoft Monitor solution. With Snap, you can monitor up to 30 computer systems or network devices for free.
But how do you view and manage the performance of those 30 systems? The Snap installation deploys a bunch of software packages, an embedded database, and the Unified Management Portal (UMP), where you interact with your infrastructure. With Snap, you get the following UMP portlets:
- Account Admin – Manage account contact users and their privileges, including access control lists (ACLs) and UMP views.
- Performance Reports Designer – See visual representations of quality of service (QoS) data. You select the host, QoS measurement, target, and time range, and the data is displayed as a graph. You can display multiple measurements on a single graph, and can view multiple graphs at a time.
- Report Scheduler – Schedule reports to run at specified times. The reports are created in PDF format and can be sent via email or FTP, or stored on a server.
- Unified Service Manager – Discover devices on your network, create groups to organize systems, view and take actions on alarms, and view and configure performance metrics.
