You can use the alarm_enrichment probe to make your alarm messages more meaningful. For example, you could configure alarm_enrichment to change the message field in an alarm if it comes from a particular source.
The alarm_enrichment configuration settings are contained in the enrichment-source, enrichment-rules, and routing-rules sections of the raw configuration for the nas probe. The high-level steps for creating enrichment rules are as follows:
- Set up a CMDBs environment – Before you can enrich alarms, you must configure an enrichment source in the CMDB section. This is typically set as query to the CA UIM database.
- Set up enrichment rules – The enrichment rules define the values to overwrite in the alarm message. You can also define additional filter criteria for alarm enrichment.
- Set up routing rules – If necessary, you can also configure routing rules to send alarms to different subjects.
